Kuljetuksissa on noudatettava vaarallisten aineiden kuljetusta tiellä (VAK) koskevaa lainsäädäntöä. Lääkejätteet, jotka on valmistettu ja pakattu vähittäismyyntiä varten tai henkilökohtaiseen tai kotitalouden käyttöön, eivät ole VAK-määräysten alaisia (Vaarallisten aineiden kuljetus tiellä, kohta 3.3.1 / 601).
