Hankinta on jaettu kolmeen (3) osa-alueeseen, joista jokainen osa-alueen sisältö on määritelty tarkemmin oman osa-alueen kuvauksessa:

        Kuhunkin osa-alueeseen valitaan viisi (5) toimittajaa. Valittuja toimittajia käytetään etusijajärjestyksessä sopimusluonnoksessa kuvatulla tavalla.

        Leikillisillä ja sosiaalisilla roboteilla tarkoitetaan ohjelmoinnin opetukseen soveltuvia robotteja. Leikillisiä robotteja käytetään pääsääntöisesti varhaiskasvatuksessa ja perusopetuksessa ja niiden tavoitteena on houkutella oppijaa ohjelmoinnin alkeiden pariin. Sosiaalisten robottien käyttäjien kohderyhmä on leikillisiä robotteja laajempi, sillä niitä voidaan hyödyntää myös muilla toimialoilla. Kaikkien leikillisten ja sosiaalisten robottien käytön tulee tukea varhaiskasvatussuunnitelman, esiopetuksen ja perusopetuksen opetussuunnitelmien perusteiden toteuttamista.

        Rakennussarjat ovat pienistä osista koottavia rakennettavia kokonaisuuksia, joissa on mukana keskusyksikkö, jonka kautta rakennusosia ja niihin liittyviä antureita ja moottoreita voi ohjata ja ohjelmoida. Rakennussarjan osat voivat olla 3d-tulostettavissa tai ne voivat koostua valmiista rakennusosista. Tarjottavien rakennussarjojen tulee soveltua varhaiskasvatuksen, esiopetuksen, perusopetuksen ja/tai toisen asteen koulutuksen tarpeisiin.
