         HUSlla on käytössä Oracle-pohjainen tietovarastointijärjestelmä, joka on tulossa elinkaarensa päähän. Ison ympäristön uudistaminen vaatii hallittua arkkitehtuurimuutosta, jonka vuoksi HUS:lla aloitettiin modernin tiedonhallinnan arkkitehtuuriin suunnittelu keväällä 2016. Suunnittelun lopputulemana syntyivät tiedon hyödyntämisen kehityslinjaukset.

         HUSin tavoitteena on rakentaa vaiheittain kehittyvä ja tunnistettuja käyttötapauksia palveleva moderneihin teknologioihin ja menetelmiin pohjautuva tiedon hyödyntämisen tietojärjestelmä sisältäen tietoaltaan ja uuden tietovarasto- sekä hyödyntämiskerroksen.
